The Barely There Lip

How many lipstick posts have you seen on this blog? One right? Maybe two at a push? I'm just going to throw it out there by saying I am afraid of a bold lip, or a lip in gentle. You may remember me rambling on by saying all this in my review of the Dior lipstick which can be found here. Anyway I thought I'd make a blog post on the barely there lips which don't have me running to the makeup remover in fear of my lipstick.

When I'm after a matte lip, then the first port of call has to be the Maybelline Color Drama in Nude Perfection. Think Kylie Jenner lips but far less expensive as let's be real, what normal 18 year old can afford lip fillers? Anyway I digress, it's my favourite lip product of choice right now as it combines the whole idea of a lip pencil and a lipstick in one. So I guess you could also call the lazy girl's nude lip. The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist is also a matte lipstick that isn't too far from my natural lip shade yet also isn't MLBB. This is super long wearing, and for a low maintenance girl like me it's perfect.

My two favourite moisturising lipsticks that give me a sheer wash of colour and are just perfect for the days I want something on my lips without the hassle has to be from Clinique and Soap and Glory. You don't think I could do a post all about lip products and not include a Chubby Stick do you? Plumped Up Pink is helping me ease into the slightly bolder colours without straying from the barely there look, while Nudist by Soap & Glory gives my lips volumes without looking like I'm wearing lipstick. Both products are a win-win.

When I feel like I want something fancy on my lips, the Dior lipstick is where it's at. Not drying, long lasting and so comfortable on the lips I just had to include this. It's a 'barely there' lip product post so I had to talk about my favourite luxe lipstick that is the classic 'my lips but better' shade.

Any other lipsticks that can help ease me into the lipstick world, please leave their names in the comments!

  7. The barely there lip looks great on you, but would love to see you wear darker shades. I think it would look equally as good! I'm a little afraid of darker colors too, but desperately wants to be able to pull of a bordeaux or dark purple lip

  8. I'm not afraid of trying a bold lipstick, but I just don't think they flatter me as much as light pinks/pinks/nudes do. I really want to try Clinique chubby sticks! They have such an assortment of pretty shades to choose from <3

Thank you so much for commenting on this little blog of mine. I read every single one and I appreciate your kind words more than I can say. I do try to reply but it's something I'm terrible at (I'm bad at texting in particular), so if you're after a swifter reply then try me over at my Twitter @jodieloue_ where I'm actually pretty good at replying.
