Ciate x Olivia Palermo Nail Polishes

Olivia Palermo Ciate
You know when you stumble across something you don't really need but it's almost too pretty to pass up? Well that's what happened when I found these Ciate x Olivia Palermo nail polishes in my local TK Maxx. I felt a little like I'd won the makeup lottery. Especially when the RRP is £17 and they were discounted to a ridiculous £6. Let's just say, the smile on my face was a little smug. I mean can you blame me, Olivia Palermo is also a total babe after all.

I decided to be greedy and pick up both of the shades on offer; Hutch 'my go to red' and Sunday's 'my off duty nude'. There's no messing about with the red shade, it's certainly a true red, and the nude shade is a delicate baby pink shade. The brushes can pretty much cover my whole nail in one sweep and I don't think I've found one that seems to work with my nail bed rather than against. It's probably the weirdest compliment I can give a polish but it just seems to hug them, you know?

While the nude shade needs about 2-3 coats to build up opacity, the red has it down in one. I think we can all agree when it comes to nudes though, they tend to be on the sheerer side to begin with. They also dry incredibly quickly, either that or I'm getting better at applying them. I'm going to say it's a happy mixture of both. Now if I just had to choose one, 'my go to red' steals the show in every aspect. It has a better wear time because I'm not really layering it up and I can get a good 2-3 days before this one chips, unlike the day and a half with the nude offering. I can live with it though, because I don't think any nail polishes in my collection look and feel this luxe.

I'm probably going to be heading right back to TK Maxx to see what else I can find. Will you be popping into your TK Maxx to see what you can dig out?

Thank you so much for commenting on this little blog of mine. I read every single one and I appreciate your kind words more than I can say. I do try to reply but it's something I'm terrible at (I'm bad at texting in particular), so if you're after a swifter reply then try me over at my Twitter @jodieloue_ where I'm actually pretty good at replying.
