My Little Box – April Edition

April 16, 2015Beauty
0

I’m always excited to receive post, and so when this month’s My Little Box came yesterday I was glee stricken and rushed right to my room to photograph it! Beauty blogger problems right there. Anyway seeing as I just received this yesterday, I’m pretty impressed that I’ve gotten it up this fast. This month’s theme is dreams. I’m not sure how the products I got reflect that, but who am I to argue?

First thing I saw was the stamp set, I’m not going to lie when I say this takes me back to about the age of 7 where I used to stamp everything I could get my hands on. It gives me strong feelings of nostalgia so even though to most this product is gimmicky, the little kid inside me loves it! The next thing I noticed was the cloud that told me to cut it open, I found an adorable necklace inside that has a rope like chain. I’m a little miffed with the chain, so I’m probably going to change that, but I think the actual charm itself is so pretty. It’s engraved with ‘Bonne Etoile’ which means lucky star. My French Canadian boyfriend will be cringing when I try to pronounce that! I’m behind the idea of anything that brings me luck. If you know me, then you know I have no luck whatsoever and the last year has pretty much been the roughest yet! Nevertheless onwards and upwards right?

Now the beauty products are pretty much what keeps me subscribing to this box, and in all honesty this month I was a little disappointed with what I got. Foam cleansers are my idea of hell in a bottle, they dry my oily combination skin to no end. The only one that hasn’t in all my 18 years of life is the Face B4 cleanser. Naturally I’m rather hesitant to try the Nominoe foaming cleanser, but I’m going to give it a try. It may surprise me and I may love it, you just never know! The tinted lipgloss in a jar by Loved by Lou Lesage has such minimalist packaging, I think I like it. It’s a deep red in pan, but on my lips it translates to a much more natural lip colour. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I think the best beauty product is the My Little Beauty hair mask. That is a product I can truly get behind. I haven’t used it yet but it smells really nice, and we all know the first step to loving a product is the scent.

Overall I feel slightly disappointed with this box, so much so that I’ve decided to end my subscription. I think My Little Box started out so great, with so many fantastic products, but then it just slowly started slipping with what was included inside. I’ll probably be tempted to buy again in the future but for now, if I’m disappointed with a product then it’s time to get rid. Sorry My Little Box, I think this is the end of our love affair!

What are your thoughts on April’s My Little Box?
