What’s In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

Holiday Makeup Bag

I always see these type of blog posts floating around at this time of year and after going on holiday myself I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. I’m always curious to see inside the makeup bag of someone else, and those top bloggers who give advice say you should only feature what you would read on your blog. Although I do find their advice to be… vague… but that’s another rant for another time, this post is something that lives up to their words of wisdom.

Base is where I start with my routine so that seems like the natural place to start. The Laura Mercier Primer is something I’ve previously raved about, but nothing really does compare. A little goes a long way and it stops foundation moving around my face, and extends the time I have to powder. My current foundation favourite has to be the L’oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte, I’m thinking of doing a whole blog post on this as it’s worth the hype that it received upon its launch. It blends seamlessly, doesn’t accentuate dry patches, and really does stay matte. I don’t need to powder my face when using this, and the high coverage means I can skip out the concealer. I’m having a good skin week at the moment, but a concealer is still a necessity (just in case). I’ve done a full review of Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer which you can read here. A powder and two concealers, it has everything, and the coverage is pretty damn good.

The most compact eye brow thing I use has to be from Natural Collection. Their eyeshadow in Crushed Walnut is the perfect shade and also happens to be really cheap.

Onto eyes. If you saw my Selfridge Haul, then you know I picked up the highly raved about Urban Decay Primer Potion. The original one too. I’ve tried it a couple of times and it’s really as good as everyone says. My eyeshadow doesn’t crease, and it applies so much more pigmented. The eyeshadow palette I brought with me is also by the same brand. The Naked Basics 2 is perfect for an everyday eye look. It has all the neutral loving shades I gravitate towards, and if I do want a bit of shimmer, I packed the Topshop Eyes in Bare. It’s a cream formula with all the trimmings. High pigmentation and a serious lasting power make this a favourite. I’m an eyeliner lover, and I’ve reignited my affair with the Collection Fast Stroke. Expect a review soon for all the deets, but it’s as cheap as chips, and seriously black. My love for the Clinique High Impact Mascara is still going strong, it’s the best buildable mascara I’ve tried.

Lip products have to be nude, and after picking up the Mac lip liner in Whirl and their lipstick in Velvet Teddy, they certainly fit the bill. I’m so impressed by their formulas that I’m already compiling a huge wishlist.

So seeing as I’m nosy, the question I want to know is what’s in your makeup bag?
