Bedside Beauty

There are some things in my life that have a solid routine, like my skincare. It happens AM and PM without fail and if I skip it I feel very angry with myself. A routine I’m trying to incorporate into my life is one I like to call the ‘Bedside Beauty’ routine.

The jist of this is simple. Hand cream, cuticle cream and then some lip balm. In all three areas, they happen very rarely when I can actually feel them screaming at me for some moisture. By keeping it minimal I’m hoping it’ll become a natural step I don’t even think about before I jump into some cosy pyjamas and snuggle down ready for bed.

I’ve accumulated a lot of small sample sized hand creams for some reason (they aren’t being sent to me, I think I just can’t resist a miniature hand cream), and in the hope to whittle through them quite quickly I thought I’d start off with a fancier offering. The Caudalie Hand and Nail cream is a pleasure to use. Not only does it smell a little bit zingy thanks to the included Orange pulp, it also has a hint of grapes which give the whole scent an uplifting, refreshing note. I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s certainly not off putting. My hands don’t feel greasy either, but rather moisturised (which oddly enough Jodie, is the point of a hand cream). The Caudalie cream is a welcome addition and for £4.00, I think I might be tempted to repurchase.

Cuticle cream is a new one on me and when I searched Amazon for one, this Burt’s Bees one stood out. A zesty, lemony scent once again, it really does what it says on the tin. I mainly concentrate this on my nail beds as cuticles, for me, are pretty non existent. I know technically they’re there, but I’ve never had any major issues with them. Any real difference is lost on me, but I’d like to think it does it’s job and does it well.

Do I really need to bore you all to death with my lamentations over how much I bloody love the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm? My love for this is well documented on jodie loue, and rightly so as no lip balm ever compares to this. I’ve just gotten over a horrid cold and never have my lips been so dry, but with this little saviour by my side, my chapped lips were no longer a bother. It’s a forever purchase, and if I haven’t convinced you yet, try it and thank me later. I’m that confident you’ll love it.
