I can honestly say I’ve never tried a CC cream before. I might have tried one BB cream and after first impressions left me a little underwhelmed, you can almost excuse me for not jumping on the double letter bandwagon.
I kept seeing the Bourjois CC cream being hailed as a new base favourite on the blog roll list and I just had to see what the hype was about. Now CC stands for ‘colour correcting’ in case you lived under a rock like me and didn’t know. I have some redness thanks to some lovely blemishes, dark spots also like to grace my face and fatigue is a constant state of being for me so it seemed like I could really put the colour correcting to the test.
Firstly I have to say, it performs more like a foundation than you’d first think. I was almost expecting a tinted moisturiser-esque product but the coverage is actually pretty decent. Almost verging on passing up on the concealer kind of decent. It definitely blends in seamlessly and I can also trust it to stick around for a good part of the day. I think it does do the colour correcting it claims to make, now it isn’t going to instantly make me look like I’ve had 10 hours of sleep if I haven’t and I don’t expect it to, but it does perk up my complexion. It also has SPF 15, definitely an added bonus for a lazy girl like me.
Powder for me is a must have with this. I’m an oily skinned kind of gal, so what do you expect? I imagine if you had dry skin however you could almost certainly get away with a slight dusting or maybe even forego the whole lot altogether. The only thing I wished could be improved upon is the shade range. The lightest shade can just about can blend in with my skintone, but I think for the very pale or darker skinned girls this would definitely be a miss. It’s the only improvement Bourjois could make to a product that is probably going to be gracing my face for most of the upcoming season.
