Trialling Clinique

A brand I’ve wanted to try for the longest time has to be Clinique. Do you remember the British Beauty Blogger Clinique Box? It contained some pretty generous sample sizes and a girl has to trial something that’s pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I think I can safely say I won’t be repurchasing their skincare I’ve trialed here. The moisturisers both break me out and do little for my skin anyway. I don’t get the hype behind the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + honestly, it just seemed to never quite sink in and as for the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, I don’t really have much to say. They aren’t aimed at my skin so I didn’t expect them to work, so don’t be put off, they just didn’t quite deliver anything but a breakout for me. Their Liquid Facial Soap cleanser is something I’ll probably use up just because, but I don’t really feel too fussed about it. It cleans my skin and does it’s job I guess. All of the skincare that came in the box is for Dry/Combination which is slightly annoying. One product for oily/blemish/all skin types would’ve been nice to see and I’m not going to judge Clinique by their skincare that isn’t for my type.

After that negativity I’ll swiftly get onto the good. The Take the Day Off eye makeup remover is actually pretty decent at removing even the toughest of eye makeup. It’s like a stronger version of the Garnier one I’m currently using and whilst I probably won’t repurchase due to the fact I’m saving not spending right now, it really has coloured me impressed. The High Impact Mascara is actually something I’ve already reviewed (don’t cringe too hard please at past me). It’s not a volumising mascara so don’t judge it for that, but for lengthening I really don’t have a bad word to say. A full size is more than welcome. Weren’t the lip chubby sticks where it all began? I’ve really enjoyed using the shade Plumped Up Pink as even though it looks pretty intense, the formula allows me to actually choose how opaque I want it. It’s moisturising on the lips and it’s almost a lipstick/gloss hybrid. I believe the hype, and while I’m at it, I think I’ll take one in every shade please!

I know this wasn’t the most positive review ever but I would like to feature products that don’t work for me on this blog. It’s also important to remember that just because they don’t work for me doesn’t mean they won’t for you. What Clinique products do you love that I need to try?

P.S I’m at my interview for University probably right now, wish me luck/send me positive vibes?
