Best of Beauty in 2015

beauty, makeup

It may be day 2 of 366 (don’t forget it’s a leap year) so it’s still early days to tell you what I’m loving this year. I did promise a round up of my favourite things of last year so that’s exactly what’s about to happen.

The Lorac Pro palette needs no introduction, I mean just look at it. Soap & Glory’s Kick Ass Concealer seems to have been featured on here a lot in the past month, but it literally has everything for all concealment matters. MAC lipsticks were another discovery of mine, and Velvet Teddy and Brave will probably grace my lips a lot this year. Speaking of lipstick, the Bourjois Rouge Edition in Nude-ist is my current go to, it lasts all day and is a perfect dusky rose nude.

We’ve all seen and heard so much about the L’Oreal Infalliable 24hr Matte foundation but it really is the creme of the crop when it comes to a matte long lasting foundation. I’m an eyeliner fiend, and my favourite is the Maybelline Master Precise. Nothing creates a feline flick quite like this. When it comes to blush look no further than the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush. I want one in every shade. Topshop stole my heart with their cream eyeshadow pots and Bare is just everything. 2015 was also the year that saw me discover bronzer (I know, how am I a beauty blogger?). Solar Powder and Topshop’s Mohawk are the perfect ones to warm up my ghost-like complexion.

The Ultrabland cleanser is a new discovery of mine but it’s already showing me the promise of better skin. Expect to hear a lot more from this in 2016 (#sorrynotsorry). While we’re on the topic of Lush, I have to mention their Mask of Magnaminty. It became my favourite mask of last year and I don’t see the love affair ending anytime soon. The Avene Cleanance Expert became my serum of choice. It’s nearly used up and it’ll definitely be repurchased. It soothes and calms my skin, and frankly I’m grateful I found it. Last year also saw La Roche Posay’s Serozinc become more readily available to us UK residents. While some may call it a glorified toner, I’d like to think there’s some magic in this bottle. After all it did make it onto my ‘Best of Beauty in 2015’ list.

I’m not very good at haircare but two products I’ve loved in 2015 has to be the Salon Science Reglosse Serum. Fly-aways seem to be a rare occurrence when I’ve used this and my hair always seems to feel soft and nourished. Then I go and ruin it all in my quest for texture. The salt spray of choice is no other than Bumble & Bumbles Surf Spray. It makes me feel like I’m one step closer to having gorgeous beachy locks.

Essie have been introduced into my life and they won’t be leaving anytime soon. My current love is Fiji and I’m sure it’ll be on your screens in no time. I didn’t quite get the hype behind them as a brand but I’ve been firmly converted. I have to also give a quick shout out to the Ciate x Olivia Palermo polishes I found in TK Maxx. A whole post is in the works but *spoiler* I’m loving them.
