The 5 minute face

I’m a girl who relishes in taking forever to apply her makeup. There’s nothing more I enjoy than watching myself rise from the bottom when it comes to appearance to a more passable state. I also like pretending my skin is in a better condition than it is, but sometimes I just can’t be bothered with the whole affair. That’s when I crack out the goods for a 5 minute face that looks like a bit more effort has gone into it all. You know, for those lazy days (aka everyday right now).

I’m going straight for the base at the moment and passing up the primer. La Roche Posay’s Effaclar BB Blur easily forgives any imperfections, so we’re okay. It’s also oil absorbing, so the entire reason I use a primer is a little bit redundant. Paired with the fact it blends best with fingers, it’s the quickest yet simplest base in my makeup collection that also gives a pretty medium coverage too. The love affair with Seventeen’s Stay Time concealer is still going strong. Anything the BB can’t conceal, I know that Seventeen have my back. It also helps that it last all day and is actually pale enough for Casper the ghost right here. It’s a good’un. I can’t be without powder (oily skin problems), and at the moment One Heck of a Blot is just perfect. It mattifies my face instantly and makes it a last for good 5 hours. What more can you want from a powder?

Having naturally thick brows means they require minimal work, but I never quite feel put together without something running through them. Archery (another Soap & Glory product) is a felt tip and a brow wax in one. Almost a dupe for Anastasia Brow Wiz I’ve been told, and it really gives them an effortless ‘I woke up like this’ vibe. Probably the only talent I’m proud of is my eyeliner skills, maybe it’s because I started out with a gel liner and a pot, but a felt tip one is super duper easy. The Eye of Horus Babylon Brown liner is fuss free. It lasts all day and softens the eyes a bit as it’s not black. Who knew I could fall in love with a brown liner? It also makes my mascara pop a bit more, and the Max Factor False Lash Effect holds a curl beautifully. It also is a pain to remove, I’m talking about a does not budge at all formula.

To finish everything off, the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink gets a quick swipe across my cheekbones. It’s a bit like a highlighter and a blush in one, but the hype around these pots is real. It just had to make another appearance, because quite frankly it’s been sat in my drawers for too long not receiving the love and affection it deserves from this blog.

Do you ever feel a bit lazy and revert to a 5 minute face? What products do you use?
