Now that winter is here, my skin seems to be a little on the drier side. Maybe it’s thanks to constantly being in an environment with the heater on, or even the fact the weather outside is cold enough for your fingertips to turn a worrying shade of pink, but my skin really needs that extra bit of TLC. Switching up my routine for the more hydrating options seem to be working, and it doesn’t seem to break me out either.
I’ve already done a review of the Clarins Lotus Oil, because it just ticks all the right boxes. The telling sign this is magic in a bottle is the fact I’m less like an oil slick, and more on the dewy side. A couple of drops of this stuff a few nights a week is no big ask, and for the results I’ll happily part with my money for this. My skin becomes supple, yep supple! Those words have never been uttered before, so I’m giving myself a pat on the back for discovering this. Did I mention that it smells almost good enough to drink? Because it does.
The cleanser on the block is still Lush’s Ultrabland. I know, I know, you’re fed up of hearing me waffle on about this stuff, but guess what? It balances my skin like no other. Gone are the days where it would feel stripped and almost a little dry after cleansing, and instead, nowadays I’m left with clean feeling skin, but thanks to a balm? It’s a complete 180 to the usual gels that litter my skincare stash. If you have skin similar to mine, please don’t write this off. My skin has become the clearest it’s ever been thanks to this little pot of joy.
Heavy moisturisers never really sit right with me, and I blame it all on being conditioned to think that oily skin doesn’t need it. The Nourish Argan Skin Renew moisturiser has changed all that though and the tub is still going strong from when I reviewed it here months ago. It does take a little while to absorb, but that’s easily remedied by using this strictly before bed. The next day my skin feels soft, and any lingering dry patches always seem to ease up. When my skin is behaving badly, I always find the nourishment it provides tend to help any spots heal that bit quicker.
