I am well aware that this box came out ages ago, however I just wanted to share my love for it. You can also buy everything featured separately so there’s no real loss to anyone. I’m still a beauty blogger to the core as I’ve yet to properly test most of these because I wanted to take pictures of it all first, so I will get round to properly testing and giving updates. Without further ado, here are my thoughts on everything featured in the box.
When I saw that Jamie Genevieve was collaborating with Cult Beauty, well I signed up instantly. I didn’t know what was in the pipeline when it was first announced, but I knew it would be good. So when it was said it was a beauty box, with all the contents handpicked by Jamie Genevieve herself, I couldn’t resist. I practically threw my money at Cult Beauty. Like Jamie herself says, it’s the ultimate cool girl box, and I honestly couldn’t wait to fall in love with these products. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, these are all cult favourites.
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter has been around for ages. I know I’m late to the party with this one. I chose the shade Moonstone, but I’m probably going to buy Opal too, because they’re both gorgeous. I do love this highlighter, however I also think that they should pack way more punch for the price and cult status of this product. It gives a natural highlight to your face thats very understated. If that isn’t your thing, give this a miss. You can get far bolder highlighters for far cheaper. Nevertheless, I’m not mad and I do think this is lovely. You just don’t need it and I’d be doing a disservice if I said this was an essential.
Another product I was so excited to try was the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette. I’ve never tried anything from Huda Beauty before, so this is a good way to test the waters. Not only is this palette warm toned, but it’s also wearable. My two favourite things. I can see this becoming a staple, it’s just an all round versatile palette with an amazing formula. The blendability is incredible and each shadow is so pigmented. This is warmly welcomed in my collection.
I’ve heard so much about Ouai Haircare as a brand, so the Rose Hair and Body Oil is a welcome addition. Now I won’t be using it on my body, but my hair loves it. It smells faintly of rose which I love, and isn’t heavy on my fine hair. I’m currently using up a Garnier hair oil, however this will be my replacemant for that. I’ll do a proper review of it when I’m using it more frequently. My first impressions are positive though.
Moving on to false lashes, something I don’t have much experience in, but am still excited to try, is the Lilly Lashes Mykonos in Faux Mink. These are super glam and dramatic. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be cool enough to try these, but I’ll give it a go regardless. I may aswell enjoy wearing £30 eyelashes at least once, because I don’t think I could ever justify that price tag again. I just need to figure out how to apply falsies first! If anyone has any tips or tricks, please send them my way. I am hopeless at applying them.
The Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist is just divine. Everything from the fine mist, down to the smell just screams luxury. I honestly cannot get enough of this. I’m not sure if it has any real purpose, I’m pretty certain it’s just scented water, but I’ll enjoy it whilst it lasts. I won’t be repurchasing though, it’s very expensive for glorified water, however I’m not saying anything negative either.
I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to lipstick, yet I want lip filler, so the Nudestix Lip and Cheek Pencil in Whisper, is perfect for dipping my toe in the water with actually using lip products. It’s the perfect “my lips but better shade” so I’m really looking forward to finally feeling confident with some lippie on. I can see this becoming a firm favourite for it’s muted shade.
A product I have tried before is the Benefit 24-HR Brow Setter, and I already know I love this. I swear Benefit are the brand to go to when it comes to your brows. This clear brow setter is perfect for my brows when I can’t be bothered to fill them in but I don’t want them looking unruly. Once you use this, your brow hairs don’t move.
Finally, the last product featured is the Cult Beauty Medium Travel Make Up Bag. I was kind of disappointed this was featured, but I’ve done a complete u-turn and this is probably my favourite product in the box. I just know I’ll get so much use out of this. Which means I’m now eyeing up their vanity bag. However the tag comes off so so easily and I’ve fixed it multiple times so I don’t reach for this as much as I could. For the price, they could make it a little bit more secure.
Thank you Jamie Genevieve and Cult Beauty for helping me find my love for beauty products again. Hopefully this is just the first blog post of many.
