I think I’ve mentioned briefly that I’m now a blonde, and with being a very white, platinum blonde, comes a certain level of self care you cannot avoid. To be fair, it’s a level of responsibility I’ve craved for years, and now it’s finally here, I’ve found myself investing in products, like the OGX lavender platinum shampoo and conditioner, that are not only better for my hair in general, but are also suitable for blondes. It’s been a long time since I’ve wrote a review of a product, so bear with me whilst I navigate how to write these again.
This is where the OGX Lavender Luminescent platinum shampoo and conditioner comes into play. I always felt like £7 is too expensive for a shampoo and conditioner, however I can usually get round that by buying this when it’s on offer in a supermarket. I’ve tried a fair few of the OGX offerings, however I do think this is one is my favourite.
As I said in my first post back, a long time away, I’ve really not been reading or writing blog posts so I am taking more time to write these kind of posts because I’ve lost the touch that I worked so hard to find initially. However I am still intent on sticking around this time.
It’s made up of a lavender oil and chamomile blend, to help reduce the appearance of brassiness blondes are often subject to. It also claims to boost platinum tones with radiance and shine. Both the shampoo and conditioner have the added benefit of containing UVA/UVB sun filters which is a welcome addition, alongside being sulfate free. Another reason I love the OGX brand is for the simple fact that their bottles are eco-friendly, and made from previously recycled materials.
The whole reason you’re reading this post is to find out if this OGX lavender platinum shampoo/conditioner duo is actually worth your hard earned pennies. The simple, quick answer is yes. A slight disclaimer, I like to be a white, bright blonde. I’m well aware the upkeep and maintenance is much harder, however it’s just what I prefer at this moment in time. This shampoo/conditioner, is therefore my go to when I don’t quite need purple shampoo (I’ll do a roundup of my favourite options shortly), but I do need something. Think of this as a less intense version of purple shampoo, however one that’s kinder on the hair. This helps to reduce brassiness on my hair, whilst keeping all the moisture and shine that us blondes desperately need.
Have you tried any OGX products?1
