As I’ve got more years under my belt, my perspective on my skin has changed. No more do I try and cover my blemishes, instead I try to heal them and prevent them in the first instance. I thought I’d share my cleansers currently in rotation and my thoughts as someone with blemish prone skin.
The Simple Micellar Facial Gel Wash is almost all used up. Since evaluating the massive consumption of beauty/skincare products I, as one individual person, am apart of, I’ve really started trying to consciously actually use a product up. In short, I adore this cleanser. It is so simple and basic, but I’m convinced that is what is working for my skin. I use this every morning as my cleanser of choice to wash away any grime my skin has amassed through the night. It’s so gentle it doesn’t even feel like I’ve washed my face. This is probably one of my favourite cleansers I have in rotation, and one I’m probably going to continue to purchase.
Remember when everyone was shouting from the rooftops about how good the Cerave SA Smoothing Cleanser was? It feels like yesterday it was the start of lockdown and the start of my love affair with this cleanser. I use this every evening as the second part of my cleanse. It has salicylic acid in to help slough away any bumpy, rough skin and with a good six months of continued use, I can really see the difference. I have purchased the Inkey List one to try next, so expect a comparison post in the future with my thoughts.
My love for the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil has already been professed in my previous post, and I’m a little bit bereft at the idea of finally using this up. I bought this as part of an oil pulling routine I saw on a Youtube video, which broke me out hugely FYI. Instead I decided to add it to my cleansers in rotation and use it in the evening as the first part of my double cleanse. Even though I don’t wear makeup everyday, I do wear SPF. It may all be in my head, but since incorporating this, I’ve noticed the spots I do get heal much quicker and are much smaller.
Two fairly new to me cleansers I’ve come across thanks to the YesStyle Christmas advent calendar are the Aromatica Reviving Rose Infusion Cleanser and the I’m From Fig Cleansing Balm. Both of these are from the Korean Beauty world, and if it’s good enough for them, it’s almost definitely too good for me. Nevertheless, this is my first soiree with them and I have to say, they really are remarkable additions. They’re both super gentle, don’t leave my skin feeling stripped and so far I’m really excited to add these into my official cleansers once I’ve used up the two I’m so close to finishing.
What cleansers do you have in rotation? Any you love?
